Tim Maggart

Tim Maggart is an award winning singer songwriter who loves to tell a story. In 2011 his song Mercy Walking (which he wrote with Donna Brown and Kathie Eidson) won the ICM Awards song contest and in 2011 his song Different Kind of Same (written with Justin Belew and Kathy Eidson) was awarded Honorable Mention in the prestigious CMT/NSAI song contest. Tim’s goal is to craft songs that will be in some way inspirational to the listener. While he writes songs in many different styles, as an artist he leans toward singing songs that celebrate Faith, Family and Country. Tim comes from Middle Tennessee and a long line of singers and musicians. Other than both his mom and dad, his musical influences range from Aerosmith to John Denver and so many artist’s in between. As a songwriter, he has been mentored by some of the best in the business. Steve Seskin and Rivers Rutherford are two songwriters who have had a profound influence on Tim as a songwriter. He has also been fortunate enough to attend many song camps from NSAI where he has sat under several other hit songwriters.

Not only does Tim come from a lineage of musicians, he is also proud to come from a long lineage of men who served in the US Army. He has fond memories of his own time in service where he entered the US Army with the rank of Private and exited as a Captain, having been honored with the Meritorious Service Metal upon his exiting the Army. His song A Link (written with Jon D'Agostino) is his way of honoring all of the brave men and women who have sacrificed so much while being “A Link in the chain of Freedom”.

So as you explore Tim’s music, know that every song comes from a man who is passionate about life, devoted to his God, Family and Country and is committed to writing the best songs he can, with some of the most amazing co-writers/friends that he knows!
